Sisters

Katie was getting ready for a dance and we were taking some pictures and of course Destina had to get in on the action too! She loves hanging out with the big sisters and she really loves having her picture taken!
Lately the girls (Destina and Avrie) have been having "Be Nice" wars! Avire will give Destina a dirty look or do something kinda mean to her and Destina will tell her to "Be Nice" and then Avrie will come back with "You Be Nice" and then Destina will say "No I am nice you be nice!" It goes on and on like this until one of them gets distracted or I break it up usually Destina will start to laugh because she is finally getting it - that Avrie is copying her to bug her! Destina's new favorite word is "Ah Maybe" that is her response to almost everything, I wonder where she gets that from....and she knows that when I say it I usually mean no or later so when I do say it she automatically starts saying "yes please"! It is pretty cute!

The Mundane

I really don't have anything to blog about, my life has become pretty mundane in a very good way. The girls have a great schedule going on and they are cute and funny everyday! Right now Avrie loves to cuddle right after her nap she will sit on my lap for about 30 minutes just hugging me, it doesn't get much better than that! Then she is back to her crazy self bossing every one around.
Destina has become my gardener we planted some flowers and plants last weekend and she has taken it upon herself to make sure they all get water every day. She takes her job very serious. School is going good for her and she loves her swimming lessons. About once a week I will have someone ask me how it is going and I can tell by the way they are looking at me or the tone in their voice that they are waiting for me to say how hard it is or how difficult the transition has been, or that it was not what I expected. But I am sorry to disappoint it feels like I won the lottery and life could not be better with the girls right now. So I don't have anything great to post about or heartbreaking stories of our life or struggles to report about, and that feels pretty good!

3 Months

The girls have been home for 3 months, and I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. It is hard to remember them not being here, they have fit into our family so easily. Maybe it is because there are other kids here and they always have someone to play with, and they have 7 other people in the house to spoil them. All the other kids love having them home and are still excited to see them every day as they walk in the door from school.
Destina is adjusting to school and most days has a great time, she started swimming lessons and she loves that. She is talking more and more and telling me about her life in Haiti some good some bad, some things make me cry. She is grateful always saying thank you and please, we love having her in our home.
Avrie is a little stinker but if we call her any other name she is quick to correct us and inform us that her name is Avrie, not little bug, stinky pants, AV, cutie pie, sweetie! She is having a lot of fun teasing Destina by copying her and blinking at her it really makes Destina mad and Avrie thinks that is pretty funny that she can get Destina all riled up. She is cute and loving and makes us laugh all the time!
We are so grateful to have them home, I am still in awe at the miracles that took place to bring them home!
