Tuesday

Tuesday we did a little shopping for the beach, we stopped at our favorite new spot for homemade ice cream sandwiches, sadly our last one of the trip. The girls wanted shaved ice so we stopped there too and had to get a picture with Mr. Matsumoto, the old hole in the wall place we loved has been rebuilt into a fancy little shopping center. We were not feeling the shaved ice this trip it was replaced by the ice cream sandwiches and acai bowls.

After eating, we rented some paddle boards and spent an hour going up the river and laying on the beach. It was a pretty relaxing day. Later we had Kelsie babysit and we went out to dinner, everyone but me gorged themselves on garlic shrimp, again.

This picture was from earlier in the week when we were gorging ourselves with hamburgers and fries, it looked like a lot of food, Kelsie doesn't like hamburgers so her friend at Pizza Hut hooked her up with a pizza and there were a lot of us squished on the table, but maybe we were eating a lot of food!

Monday

On Monday we woke up and it was a little rainy but pretty soon the clouds disappeared and the girls rushed outside to see the rainbow.

We decided to go snorkeling since the weather cleared up. We loaded the kids and gear and made the 7 minute drive to Sharks Cove, when we got there and started walking to the snorkeling spot it started raining, a lot. We were hiding under the trees pretending that we were on Survivor and we wanted to be voted off so we could go sit in the car. We lost the vote, we stuck out the 15 minute rain shower and then the men and little girls went snorkeling.

Avrie's favorite part was seeing the school of fish swim by, she also didn't complain about her very own taxi service around the snorkeling area.
We picked up Kelsie and she wanted to take us to the other side of the island to one of her favorite hikes and beaches, Lanakila beach. Since the weather was still pretty iffy where we were at we decided to make the drive. After getting lost and getting lunch we decided that the hike was too much so we just opted for the beach for a few hours. The little girls pulled out the snorkeling gear and had so much fun playing in the water.

Destina wasn't feeling too good so she slept and this bird came right up to her and almost tasted her arm.

After the girls were tired of playing in the water they found a nice long vine and played tug-of-war.

The temp was a little cooler that day but we avoided most of the rain and had a beautiful view sitting on the beach!

Surfing

On Sunday we went to church with Kelsie then went over to the temple to take some pictures.

Then it was back home and the little girls went "surfing" on our beach, we lounged around in the afternoon then met Kelsie's roommates for dinner.

We came back to the house after raiding Kelsie's pantry and since it was my friend's birthday she made us cookies, I know it was all backwards, but she makes really good cookies!

Reapeat

We met up with some other friends that were in Hawaii, and we decided to go back to Waimea again because the kids had so much fun the day before. We spent most of the morning there then went back to our place for the afternoon, and the kids were out in the water the whole day, we might have been napping in the afternoon, or eating I am not sure we did a lot of both.
Scott jumped off the cliffs again, but he jumped just as I turned my head and I missed him in mid air.

Day 2

We were ready to hit the beach and we were only about a 3 minute drive to our favorite beach...Waimea. It was a great spot for the kids to play in the water, and it was fun to go out and swim. This turned out to be one of the best pictures of us, there were some not so good ones the rest of the week.

The little girls had fun sledding down the sand hill into the natural stream that almost reaches the ocean. They also had a lot of fun in the water.

Later that night Kelsie wanted to take us on a hike up to the Sunset Pill Boxes, it was a pretty easy hike, we had fun along the way and it was pretty straight up the mountain, hiking through the jungle.

 We started way down there....

It was a beautiful way to watch the sunset, we saw several pods of whales breaching and spouting water, even the kids had fun once they made it to the top!

Spring Break

We decided that we would go visit Kelsie in Hawaii before she came home, we needed to help her get all of her stuff home so we just had to go. We also went with friends and that made the trip that much better! Our first full day there we headed up to the beach house we were staying at and on the way we hit the Dole Plantation it was a nice spot to let the kids run around and of course have a little Dole Whip.

We made our way to the beach house and we had turtles right on our beach, it was fun to see them, I think they slept there every night because in the morning there were turtle tacks in the sand. We stopped to get Kelsie and we were all happy to see her.

Of course the girls wanted to play in the sand and water right away and they were in the water the whole time we were at the house unless it was dark!
We loved our house it was the perfect beach cottage!
